HD Radio developer iBiquity says there are now 20 million factory-installed and aftermarket vehicles with HD Radio receivers on the road. The figure has been given a lift by a strong year for new car sales. An HD Radio-equipped vehicle is sold in the U.S. every four seconds, or approximately 20,000 cars per day. And despite a recent pullback by General Motors, three new automotive brands -- Nissan, Chrysler, and Lamborghini -- have added HD Radio receivers since last year’s NAB Radio Show.
